A reflection on some of our favourite images and projects from our first year in business.

A Year in Review with Akta MTB

It’s crazy how quickly one year can go by, and it’s even crazier to think of how much we’ve packed into this first year.

As we approach our one year anniversary we are looking back at some of our favourite images.

Being based in North Vancouver we have such quick access to the most picturesque and iconic riding locations. Our first major project was for our brand launch video. We set out on the road for this one and shot two locations, the Sunshine Coast and Kamloops.

We also visited our team rider Forrest Riesco on his home turf on the Coast to shoot at the Coast Gravity Park and Roberts Creek trails. This was a stand alone edit to welcome Forrest to the team as he had been out with injury for the filming of our initial launch video.

Next up was our team video for this year when we toured Vancouver Island and discovered some incredible new zones. Mount Prevost, the Stevie Park, the Jordie Park and Burnt Bridge made up this road trip video. So many of our athletes are based on the island, so it was a lot of fun having them show us their daily go-to spots.

There's also a few other bits and pieces from our athletes racing and taking part in partnered projects with other brands.

Our first team trip. This made things REAL. Seeing riders in our kits on the trails was a surreal feeling. Sunsets on the Coast don't disappoint.

Natasha Miller blew us all away with her confidence and aggressive riding. She held her own on this trail. Glove-less and goggle-less shredding.

Young talent that we can get behind. Max Cookman showed us what he's got on his home town jumps. So cool to see Stevie Smiths legacy living on and now providing youth a place to grow their passions. #longlivechainsaw

2023 was the first year we saw our gear on a World Cup race track thanks to our athlete/photographer/web-designer Forrest Riesco. Doing his thing on the international stage.
